Spiti Valley is a Himalayan desert mountain valley situated at an average height of 13,000 feet in the north-eastern part of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Often regarded as a chunk of Tibet marooned in India, Spiti Valley is enigmatic and is interspersed with tiny hamlets and serene monasteries sitting precariously on mountain crags spread across its notched moonscape.
Spiti Valley road trip is the stuff of dreams. It boasts of some of the most 360 panoramas in the world and some of the highest villages of the world. The scattered villages comprise of whitewashed mud-brick homes amid rugged mountains and barley fields. After breakfast, depart from the Amboseli National Park and be driven to the slopes of Mt. Kenya in central province. You will be driven through very scenic landscape and arrive at the lodge in time for check in and lunch. The lodge overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick which attracts a host of wildlife enabling you to view them from the comfort of your room or from the lodge view decks, overnight stay.
After breakfast you will have a morning departure from Mt. Kenya and be driven to Lake Nakuru National Park, the most famous bird lover’s paradise in Kenya. En route, you will visit the famous Thompson falls, which is a scenic picnic and photographic spot that drains into the Aberdare Ranges. You will enjoy a short walk in the beautiful nature trail located at the base of the falls. Afterwards, proceed to Lake Nakuru arriving for lunch and afterwards, an afternoon game drive. Overnight stay.
After breakfast you will check out and depart to the Masai Mara Reserve, home to the big five and numerous plains game. If you visit between July and October, you will have an opportunity to spot the annual wildebeest migration. You will arrive in time for check in and lunch at your lodge before departing for afternoon game drives. Optional activities include hot air balloon safari, guided nature walks, bush lunch/dinner/breakfast, bird walks, and evening sundowner. Overnight stay.
Spend a full day at leisure within the extensive and beautiful Masai Mara reserve, looking out for the big five and enjoying game drives with all meals being served at the lodge.
